Born in Geneva, Gabriel Courvoisier began his musical training with the piano. He soon discovered his interest in singing and joined the children’s chorus Maîtrise du Conservatoire Populaire, with which he made his first steps on an opera stage when he was ten. During his childhood he appeared several times on the stage of the Grand Théâtre de Genève, including the production of La Damnation de Faust in 2003 directed by Olivier Py, in which he had a small solo part.

He obtained his Bachelor of Arts HES-SO in Music at HEMU of Lausanne in 2012.
While studying in Lausanne, he attracted favourable notice with his creation of the title role in Guy François Leuenberger’s Le Procès de Don Juan in 2011.

From 2011 to 2013, he was part of Lausanne’s opera chorus, which gave him the opportunity to work with renowned professionals, such as the director Omar Porras.
In 2013 he commenced studies with the tenor Justin Lavender at the Royal College of Music,   where he has just obtained his Master of Music in Performance (Voice).

At the Royal College of Music Gabriel was praised for his appearances on the stage of the Britten Theatre, in roles such as Kudrjaš (Káťa Kabanová), Danilo (The Merry Widow), Gabriel Von Eisenstein (Die Fledermaus), Lysander (A Midsummer Night's Dream) and Jaquino (Fidelio)

Gabriel made his debut as Rodolfoo in November 2016 in Arcadian Opera’s production of La Bohème.
