Gareth read Music and was a choral scholar at Jesus College, Cambridge. Upon graduating in 2013, he spent a year singing with Hereford Cathedral Choir and teaching at the Cathedral School. Since moving to London in 2014, he has pursued a varied and exciting freelance singing career, regularly performing with some of London's top consort groups and church choirs. Recent highlights include performances at St John's Smith Square with Siglo de Oro and Reverie, broadcasts on BBC Radios 2, 3 and 4 - including the BBC's celebration of Shakespeare - and appearances at the Sam Wanamaker Playhouse for "All the Angels: Handel and the first Messiah". Recent solo work includes Bach’s Magnificat, St John Passion and Haydn's Nelson Mass and he has participated in masterclasses with James Gilchrist, Lucy Schaufer, Sam Evans and Harry Christophers. He is currently taking part in the National Youth Choir’s inaugural Fellowship programme – encompassing performance, pedagogy and leadership – which aims to produce a new generation of choral leaders.
