Georgia Mae Ellis is a British mezzo-soprano studying at the Royal Academy of Music Opera School under the tutelage of Yvonne Howard.
Recent engagements include Der Komponist in the Ariadne auf Naxos prologue and Jane in Witch, a world premiere by Freya Waley-Cohen, at the Royal Academy of Music. Georgia Mae joined the 2021 Glyndebourne Tour as a chorus member and sang Carmen’s Habanera for the company’s annual Christmas concert.
Georgia Mae studied for her undergraduate and Master’s degrees at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM) under the tutelage of Mary Plazas.
During her time at the RNCM she performed the roles of La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi and Suor Zelatrice in Suor Angelica as part of a Puccini double bill, Mère Marie in Dialogues des Carmèlites, the Fox in The Cunning Little Vixen and Fanny Price in Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park. In 2019 she covered the leading role in British Youth Opera’s London premiere of Scoring a Century by David Blake and Keith Warner.
Georgia Mae was the recipient of the Frederic Cox Award for Singing in 2020 and received a highly commended award for the Gold Medal Prize in 2021.
