Gisela is a multifaceted musician, starting out as a professional pianist with a strong interest
in chamber music and song accompaniment. She came to solo singing through her work as accompanist, but has expanded this part of her career in the last few years, through teaching and performing.
She started work with pianist Siân Maddock in 2011 until 2015.
In 2016 Gisela founded a trio with pianist John Human and cellist Una Birtchnell, covering and performing repertoire, both original and arranged – ranging from art songs by Piatti, Cooke and Schubert to music from operas as well as oratorios.
Gisela also performs at services, in concerts and festivals in various churches in London.
Since 2014 she has been studying privately with Jessica Cash, formerly professor at the GSMD.
Gisela has been an accompanist and tutor of the City Lit for many years. In March 2018, Gisela has also joined the vocal staff of the college.
