Soprano Hailey West is in her first year of Masters at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Raymond Connell. She completed her undergraduate degree at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.

Recent opera engagements include Adelaide from Jonathan Dove’s, The Enchanted Pig (RBC 23’), La Fée from Massenet’s Cendrillon (RBC 24’), Gretel from Humperdinck’s Hansel and Gretel (RBC 24’) and Ester Knabe from Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (RAO 25').

In opera scenes at RBC, she performed Maria Bertram from Jonathan Dove’s Mansfield Park and Gretel from Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel. At the Academy, she was a chorus member in Hänsel und Gretel with Royal Academy Opera. Alongside her opera engagements, Hailey won the Stuart Cameron Smith American Song Prize (RBC) in 2022, and was also a finalist in The Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition in 2024. At the Academy, she was awarded ‘Highly Commended’ in the Isabel Jay Memorial Prize and ‘Commended’ in the Blyth-Buesst Operatic Prize.
