Beginning her vocal training in 2021, British Mezzo-Soprano Imogen Woodhead later joined Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2022, completing her Graduate Diploma (with Distinction) and MMus (with Distinction). Prior to this, she read English Literature at Durham University, graduating in 2022. She is currently a finalist on the Professional Diploma in Classical Vocal Performance, studying under the tutelage of Robert Alderson and with Panaretos Kyriatzidis as her coach. Imogen is the recipient of the Elliot Rosenblatt Memorial Scholarship and the Morag Noble Scholarship, and was awarded second prize in the Hearn Foundation Singing Competition 2025.
In 2025, she performed the role of Penelope in Trinity Laban Opera's production of Monteverdi's Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, and in 2024, the role of Lavinia in Errollyn Wallen's Dido’s Ghost. She has diverse experience performing a range of repertoire in recitals, oratorio, new works and opera, with highlights including: working with Sir Stephen Hough; North Wales Opera Studio; Brandenburg Choral Festival of London; world premiere of a recently discovered opera by a female composer (Pamela Tomlinson); performing alongside Helen Charlston with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment; performing with Robert Murray and Christine Rice MBE at the Little Missenden Festival 2023.
