Isobel Hughes is an award-winning mezzo soprano from North London and recent graduate of the
David Seligman Opera School at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Isobel’s recent roles
include Sesto in Somerset Opera’s CESARE, a comic reimagining of Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Prince
Orlofsky in Strauss’ Die Fledermaus with New Aquarian Opera, and Hänsel in Humperdinck’s Hänsel
und Gretel with Uncovered Opera Company. They also recently performed as a chorus member in
British Youth Opera’s production of Stravinsky’s The Rake’s Progress. Isobel looks forward to joining
St Albans Chamber Opera as Second Witch in their upcoming Dido & Aeneas, as well as the chorus of
Gothic Opera’s production of Halévy’s La Dame de Pique.
