Baritone Jack Lee is currently in his third year at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Giles Underwood and Chad Vindin. Whilst studying at the RAM, Jack has been involved in projects including; a recital of Schumann’s Liederkreis Op 39; Chorus for a performance of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony with the Royal Academy of Music Chorus in Royal Festival Hall conducted by Semyon Bychkov and Chorus for Royal Academy Opera’s production of Don Giovanni. Outside of the Academy Jack is a regular concert performer, these have included, Bass Soloist in Handel’s Messiah with Eltham Choral Society and Oakham Choral Society and Bass Soloist in Bach Cantata 131 ‘Aus der Tiefen’ with the Choir of Our Most Holy Redeemer. Jack has participated in masterclasses given by some of the leading names of the industry, such as Neal Davies and James Gilchrist. He is a member of the Philharmonia Chorus Student Scheme, and as such, has worked under conductors Edward Gardner and Itzhak Perlman throughout Continental Europe. Through the Student Scheme Jack was awarded a coveted place in a masterclass given by Dame Ann Murray on the music of Handel. He is a varied recitalist, having performed music as diverse as Schumann and Schubert, Finzi and Ravel, Barber and Dove. Upcoming performances include a role debut as Papageno in The Uppermill Summer Music Festival’s production of The Magic Flute, a solo lunchtime recital in the Music for Market series at St Mary’s Church, Newark and chorus for Royal Academy Opera’s production of Tchaikovsky’s Iolanta and Ravel’s L’enfant et les sortilèges.
