Wiltshire based Tenor Jamie Formoy completed his Masters at the RNCM in 2020 under the tutelage of Nicholas Powell. During his studies he performed the role of Macduff (Macbeth) Preston opera, he was involved in the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival performing as part of the chorus in a concert production of Götterdämmerung conducted by Sir Andrew Davis and was part of the RNCM/ Opera North Mentorship scheme he also shadowed the role of Sam Kaplin (Street Scene). Since graduating he has performed the roles of Adolfo Pirelli (Sweeney Todd) at the Buxton Opera House, Gastone (La Traviata) in concert, Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor) Instant Opera, Don Basillio and Don Curzio (Le Nozze di figaro) at Bishopgate institute and the First armed man and Second priest (Magic Flute) Dorset Opera Festival. Last season Jamie was involved in Opera Holland Park’s new production of Rigoletto, Into Opera’s Carmen, English National Ballet’s production of Stravinsky’s Les Noces and Gothic Opera’s Rip Van Winkle which he was in the ensemble and covering the title role.
