Wiltshire based Tenor Jamie Formoy completed his Masters at the RNCM in 2020 under the tutelage of Nicholas Powell.
During his studies he performed the role of Macduff (Macbeth) Preston Opera, he was involved in the 2019 Edinburgh International Festival performing as part of the chorus in a concert production of Götterdämmerung conducted by Sir Andrew Davis and was part of the RNCM/ Opera North Mentorship scheme.
Since graduating he has performed the roles of Adolfo Pirelli (Sweeney Todd) at the Buxton Opera House, Gastone (La Traviata) in concert, Normanno (Lucia di Lammermoor) Tinca, Song Seller and Cover Luigi (Il Tabarro) Instant Opera, Don Basillio and Don Curzio (Le Nozze di Figaro) at Bishopgate Institute, First Armed Man and Second Priest (Magic Flute) Dorset Opera Festival, Chancellor of Rudenz (Maria De Rudenz) and cover roles of Rip Van Winkle (Rip Van Winkle) and Aubry (Der Vampyr) for Gothic Opera.
Jamie is back for his third season at Opera Holland Park singing chorus in The Flying Dutchman having previously sung chorus in Tosca, Barber, Edgar, Rigoletto and a joint production with English National Ballet of Stravinsky’s Les Noces.
Jamie is currently on BYO’s Serena Fenwick Programme.
