Mezzo-soprano Jenny Samuel studied at Birmingham Conservatoire, on The Knack - a performance course for singers run by the Baylis Programme at English National Opera, at the Opera School Wales, and with BBC Cardiff Singer of the World vocal expert Mary King. She gained a distinction for a Masters of Music in Performance at the University of Southampton where she now teaches Classical Voice.

Jenny has sung with English Touring Opera, Buxton Festival Opera, Swansea City Opera, London Opera Players, English National Opera, Surrey Opera Carl Rosa Opera, Pavilion Opera, European Chamber Opera, Vox Lirika, International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival and at the Spoleto Festival, Italy.

Her roles include Florence Pike in Albert Herring, Zita in Gianni Schicchi, Mrs Noye in Noye’s Fludde, Madame Larina in Eugene Onegin. Katisha in The Mikado, Ruth in The Pirates of Penzance, Little Buttercup in HMS Pinafore, title role in La Cenerentola, Marcellina in The Marriage of Figaro, Berta in The Barber of Seville, Pauline in The Queen of Spades, Kitchen Boy/Third Nymph in Rusalka, Adalgisa in Norma, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Third Lady in The Magic Flute, title role in Handel’s Radamisto and Kate Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly.

Oratorio solos include Elijah, Messiah, Christmas Oratorio, Mozart's Requiem, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Vivaldi's Gloria, Haydn's Harmony Mass and Purcell's Hail! Bright Cecilia.

As a song recitalist Jenny has sung at Buxton Festival, Winchester Cathedral, Southampton Art Gallery and for Portsmouth Music Club.

She also regularly sings for Music in Hospitals and is in much demand as a singing teacher.
