After studying with Ian Kennedy at the Guildhall, Essex - based soprano Jessica Hope is graduating from the RNCM this summer with first class honors. She studies with renowned vocal teacher Nicholas Powell.
Before attending the RNCM, Jessica trained as a dancer at Arts Educational Schools London, completing a foundation year in Musical Theatre. There, she developed the core disciplines of ballet and jazz dancing, improvisation, as well as voice and speech.
She has participated in masterclasses with distinguished singers such as Roderick Earle, Angela Rostock, Janet Haney, Rosalind Plowright and most recently Susan Bullock.
Jessica has performed with the RNCM chamber choir in collaboration with The Kings Singers and in the UK première of Penderecki’s Seventh Symphony Seven Gates of Jerusalem. She also performed in the chorus of the RNCM’s production of Lehar’s The Merry Widow, Mozart’s Cosi Fan Tutti and played the role of Mae Jones in the RNCM’s recent production of Kurt Weil’s Street Scene.
Recently Jessica was placed second in the Essex Young Musician of the year competition. She is also looking to preparing the roles of Musetta (La Boheme) and Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) for Flat Pack Music's 2018 season.
