Katie is a graduate from the University of Oxford (Somerville College) with a BA Music. She is currently studying voice with mezzo-soprano Sally Burgess FRCM.

Katie has sung the alto solos for works including Bach’s Easter Oratorio (St Michael at the North Gate), Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater (Somerville College, New College and St Peter’s College, Oxford) and Tippett’s A Child of Our Time (Exeter College, Oxford). In 2016 she performed as alto soloist in Bach’s St John Passion (c. Benjamin Goodson) alongside Robyn Allegra Parton, Nick Pritchard and Giles Underwood.

Katie is the current Alto 1 Section Leader with the National Youth Choir of Great Britain, she is one of the VOCES8 scholars for 2017, and will be a member of Genesis Sixteen for 2017-18. She has sung extensively with other choirs and consorts including The Armonico Consort (c. Christopher Monks), Schola Cantorum of Oxford (c. James Burton), National Youth Chamber Choir of Great Britain (c. Ben Parry), Oxford Bach Soloists (c. Tom Hammond-Davies) and Sansara. Through her choral singing she has toured to the USA, Germany, Prague, Malta, China and Hong Kong.

At university Katie was grateful to receive the Margaret Irene Seymour Award 2013-2016 for Solo Performance, the Chloe and Helen Morton Award 2015 for Choral Performance and a Joan Conway Scholarship 2016. Previously she attended Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester where she studied voice with Helen Francis and was awarded the Vocal Performance Prize 2013.
