British mezzo-soprano Katie Macdonald is a graduate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where her studies were generously supported by The Behrens Foundation and The Mario Lanza Foundation.
She was a 2024 Alvarez Young Artist for Garsington Opera, a 2022-2023 Britten- Pears Young Artist and an Oxford Lieder Young Artist.
Recent opera engagements include Maenad 2 (cover) in Platée (Garsington Opera), Shepherd Boy in Tosca (Grange Park Opera), Nerone in Agrippina (Hampstead Garden Opera), Sister Osmina in Suor Angelica (Grange Park Opera), Gerardo in Elena and Gerardo (Random Opera), Elvira (cover) in Don Giovanni (Hurn Court Opera).
She has also worked with West Green House Opera, British Youth Opera and Opera Holland Park.
Other recent projects include recitals with Aldeburgh Festival, LSO Discovery and Oxford Lieder.
