Kennedy Blair Miller is a 25-year-old American soprano and librettist based in London, England. In 2024, she earned her Master of Music with Distinction from the Royal Academy of Music, where she was a recipient of the prestigious Marshall Scholarship. She recently made her role debut as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Opera Greenwich. In 2024, Kennedy won Third Prize at the Alpe-Adria Young Voices International Vocal Competition, sponsored by Musikverein Graz, and was awarded the Sonderpreis by the Junge Philharmonie Wien. As part of this honor, she will perform a concert of Wolf Lieder arranged for chamber orchestra with the ensemble in 2026.
During her time at the Royal Academy, Kennedy performed a variety of operatic roles in the Vocal Faculty Scenes showcases, including Elettra (Idomeneo), Contessa Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro), and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni). She was also a finalist in the 2023 Joan Chissell/Rex Stephens Robert Schumann Lieder Competition and was Commended in the Isabel Jay Memorial Prize.
A passionate advocate for contemporary music, Kennedy premiered Girl, Woman, _____, a song cycle composed by Mary Offer with text by Kennedy herself, to a sold-out audience at the Royal Academy of Music’s Students Create Festival in 2024. The cycle was later performed at London’s Empower Festival, and selections will be published in Autumn 2025. Additionally, she premiered the role of Lila in Toby Anderson’s opera SATYRS, Act I.
Kennedy’s previous operatic credits include Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) with Opera Greenwich in 2025, Poppea (L’Incoronazione di Poppea) with UNC Opera in 2021 and Third Spirit/Cendrillon Cover (Cendrillon) with the Miami Beach Classical Music Festival the same year. She was a two-time national semifinalist in the National Association of Teachers of Singing competition (2020, 2022) after securing first place in North Carolina’s regional competitions.
