Kimiya Lobie is a mezzo-soprano who graduated with Honours in Classical Voice Performance from the University of Auckland. She began her musical journey at the age of four with piano before discovering her passion for singing. Kimiya has excelled in competitions, including being a finalist in the Graham Allen Musical Theatre Competition (2021) and receiving awards at both the South Auckland Performing Arts Competition and the North Shore Vocal Competition.
Kimiya’s performance career began at a young age with Opera Factory and New Zealand Opera. She has since built a strong portfolio across opera, choral, and musical theatre productions, with highlights including roles in Dido and Aeneas(Second Woman), Les Misérables, The Crucible, and University of Auckland’s Opera Scenes (Dorabella and Orfeo). In 2024, she joined the New Zealand Opera Chorus for Le Comte Ory.
She is currently based in London, furthering her training with Neil Baker and expanding her international career.
