Konstantina Thanopoulou is a Greek soprano. Her love and passion for music and singing began early in her life, as she started having piano lessons from the age of 6 and taking part in children’s choirs a bit later. Although music was always an important part of her life, she studied Biology and completed a Master’s Degree in Education, in the University of Athens. At the same time, she was studying classical singing and opera performance in the National Conservatory of Athens. She completed her Diploma in Vocal Studies, graded Excellent and 1st prize under Greek soprano Myrsini Margariti. During her studies she performed in productions as Drusilla in L’incoronazione di Poppea, Polly in Die Dreigroschenoper and as a soloist for many years in the Historic Choir of Nikaia, with appearances all over Greece. Konstantina currently resides in Belgium and is following a Master in Vocal Performance in the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, under prof. Gary Jankowski. She has performed the role of Cis in The Conservatory’s production Albert Herring, by Benjamin Britten under the scenical direction of Benoît De Leersnyder and musical direction of Michiel Delange. In May 2020 she will perform the role of Phani in Les Indes Galantes by Jean -Philippe Rameau under the musical direction of Korneel Bernolet.
