The need of expressing her thoughts and
feelings through the arts led Lara to write,
paint, dance and sing from an early age on.
A light piano training allowed her to
accompany herself while singing pop and
soul music during her teen years. At age 15
she developped a great interest in Jazz
Music.

In 2010 she joined her hometown music
school - Orfeão de Leiria – Conservatório de
Artes – meaning to learn a basic voice
technique that would allow herto travel
through the jazz standards with a bit more
ease and ended up seing herself
totally committed to Opera, Oratorio and
Lied. Along came masterclasses with Claire
Vangelisti, Isabel Alcobia, Edemar Ferreti, Elisabete Matos and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Évora’s University under the guidance of the
Mezzo-Soprano Liliana Bizineche. This town offered her the chance of
creating along side a clarinet player- Hélia Varanda - and a pianist - Inês
Condeço - a trio called Trio Liederbuch that performed through the
country.
