Lara Rebekah recently completed her postgraduate studies at the Royal Northern College of Music under the tutelage of Peter Wilson. Throughout her education, Lara held the Annie Ridyard Scholarship for Mezzo Sopranos and was generously supported by the Mario Lanza Educational Foundation, the Philip Bates Trust, The Kathleen Trust and the Shoresh Charitable Trust. She graduated from the RNCM in 2015 with a BMus first class honours. Lara now studies with Sarah Pring.

Lara’s operatic roles include Madrigalist Manon Lescaut (Opera Holland Park), Olga Eugene Onegin (Opera Loki), Maurya Riders to the Sea (Wexford Festival Opera) and Dritte Dame Die Zauberflöte, Sprite Cendrillon, and Lolo The Merry Widow (all for RNCM Opera). Choruses include Un Ballo in Maschera, Manon Lescaut and Isabeau (all for Opera Holland Park), Candide (The Grange Festival), Vanessa and Herculanum (Wexford Festival Opera), Orfeo ed Euridice, L'Ivrogne Corrige, and Paradise Moscow (all for RNCM Opera). Roles in RNCM Opera Scenes include Stewardess Flight, Secretary The Consul, Lady Essex Gloriana, Serving Woman King Priam and Florence Pike Albert Herring.

As an oratorio soloist, performances include Bach’s Magnificat, St John Passion and Christmas Oratorio, Dvorak’s Stabat Mater, Handel’s Messiah, Haydn’s Maria Theresa Mass, Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, Rutter’s Feel the Spirit, Karl Jenkins’ The Armed Man, Manchester Carols by Sasha Johnson Manning and Beethoven’s Choral Fantasie with the Vienna Tonkünstler-Orchester.

In 2016, Lara appeared as soloist for three performances at the Royal Albert Hall with the Royal Marines Massed Bands. She was also a finalist in both the Frederic Cox Award and The Joyce and Michael Kennedy Award for the Singing of Strauss.

Lara has taken part in numerous masterclasses with highlights including Jennifer Larmore, James Baillieu, Andrew Shore, Alice Coote, Sarah Connolly, Ann Murray, Mary King, Lynne Dawson, David Owen-Norris and Anthony Spiri.

Lara also enjoys her outreach work. As well as teaching singing and leading consorts, Lara is a soloist for Lost Chord, a charity that brings professional musicians into care homes, giving interactive concerts to people suffering with dementia.

Upcoming performances include the role of Jou Jou in Lehar's The Merry Widow (Iford Arts) and the role of Clo Clo in The Merry Widow (Opera Holland Park). She will also be singing chorus in OHP's double bill of Delius' Margot la Rouge and Puccini's Le Villi.
