The danish lyric soprano ​​​​​​​Lona Mohr Villadsen has been a finalist in the opera singing competitions Concorso Lirico Arturo Pessina in January 2019, Luigi Zanuccoli in May 2017, in Cengio in Lirica, Italy, April 2016 and in The International Voice Competition Alexandru Farcas, Romania in May 2014 where she was awarded a Special prize from the State Philharmonic of Arad.

In 2018 Lona debuted as Desdemona in Otello in Italy, as Mimì in La Bohème in Italy, as Micaëla in Carmen with Opera Classica Europa, Germany and with The Danish National Opera also as Micaëla in Carmen.

Growing up in the countryside of Jutland, Lona Mohr Villadsen took her first singing lessons in Århus, Denmark. Lona is a graduate of the advanced postgraduate program (soloist class) at The Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Odense as well as from Stockholm Opera Studio and the Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen. From the latter she has a diploma (corresponding to a master's degree).
