Madeleine has appeared in the roles of Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro, Echo in Ariadne auf Naxos, Noemie in Cendrillon, Tytania in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Second Witch in Dido and Aeneas. She has also performed as a chorus member in productions of Eugene Onegin and L’Elisir d’amore. On the concert stage, Madeleine has sung solos in performances of Bach’s B Minor Mass, Handel’s Messiah and Purcell’s Hail Bright Cecilia.

As a choral singer, Madeleine has toured Hong Kong, Australia, the USA, Germany, Switzerland and Canada with the Choir of Trinity College, Cambridge. With the choir she also recorded the works of CV Stanford, Ralph Vaughan-Williams, Gerald Finzi, and Cecilia McDowall, as both a member of the choir and soloist. Madeleine’s choral concert experience includes Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, Matthew Passion and B Minor Mass, as well as Requiems by Mozart and Durufle.

While Madeleine is a competent sight-reader, she takes great care to ensure that she is prepared for each engagement in advance of rehearsals. She has performed numerous concerts from memory and has extensive knowledge of choral repertoire, and endeavours to ensure that each performance is thoughtful and musically informed. Madeleine believes that singing and performing are about more than merely precision - she enjoys giving passionate and expressive performances as both soloist and chorus member.
