Mariana Fernandes began her vocal training in 2012 at the National Conservatoire of Lisbon under the tutelage of Prof. Rute Dutra and since 2016 is part of Prof. Marilyn Rees' class at the Guildhall of Music and Drama.
She has won several prizes, including the 2nd prize in the VII National Singing Competition - Group B (2014), an Honourable Mention in the VIII National Singing Competition - Group A (2015) and in the International Competition of Music "Cidade de Almada" (2016).
She is a scholarship holder of the Fundação GDA (2016).
Mariana Fernandes took part in masterclasses given by extraordinary musicians such as Prof. Jill Feldman, Prof. Christian Hilz, Prof. Lucia Mazzaria, Prof. Claire Vangelisti, Prof. Isabel Alcobia, Prof. Samantha Malk, Prof. Pierre Mak, João Paulo Santos and John Graham-Hall.
She has also worked with international personalities such as Director John Ramster, Prof. Lihne Robertson, Director Rúben Santos, Ana Paula Russo, Eurico Carrapatoso, Miguel Azguime, Anna Tomasik, and Essa-Pekka Salonnen.
