Marina Pacheco holds a “remarkable musicality, unusual confident and solid technique, justifying the applause, not so much for the pleasant physical presence, but for the vocal ductility” (in Público).
Upcoming engagements involve concerts in Portugal and Germany with lied recitals and opera galas.
Winner of 26th edition of Prémio Jovens Músicos (Portugal) and awarded in several competitions around Europe, Marina performs regularly in opera, oratorio, lied and contemporary music. Praised by the international press for her “perfect virtuosity” and “talent as an actress”, she sang in Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, Belgium, Mozambique, Colombia and South Africa.
She dedicates herself to the promotion of Portuguese music with three released albums: “João Arroyo: obra para canto e piano”, “Canções de Lemúria” and “Cantiga partindo-se”. She has appeared in the productions of Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A.Mozart (Susanna), Amor de Perdição by J. Arroyo (Teresa), Julie by P. Boesmans (Kristin), Candide by L. Bernstein (Cunegonde), Paride ed Elena by C.W.Gluck (Paride), L’Enfant et les Sortilèges by M.Ravel (Princesse), A Laugh to Cry by M.Azguime (Soprano), Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G.Rossini (Rosina), TMIE by C.A.Augusto (Soprano) and Hummus by Z.Moultaka (Sarah), among others.
She performed solo with Jenaer Philharmonie, João Roiz Ensemble, Norrbotten NEO, Orquestra de Câmara Portuguesa, Orquestra Clássica do Centro, Orquestra Clássica do Sul, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, Orquestra Gulbenkian, Orquestra Sinfónica do Porto, Sond’Art-te Electric Ensemble and Orquestra da Ópera Estatal de Stara Zagora conducted by António Saiote, Artur Pinho Maria, Bart Bouckaert, Cesário Costa, Christoph König, Francisco Belli, Guillaume Bourgogne, Jan Wierzba, Joana Carneiro, José Eduardo Gomes, Marc Tardue, Markus L. Frank, Pedro Neves, Peter Sundkvist, Rui Pinheiro and Tiago Ferreira.
Her musical education started with Pedro Telles, graduating in the class of José de Oliveira Lopes and completing the Master’s Degree in Musical Performance with Sofia Serra and António Salgado – with the support of Santander. In 2010/2011 she was member of Vlaamse Operastudio in Belgium, with the support of Leonardo da Vinci’s Program and Robus Foundation.
Marina improved her skills under the guidance of Ambra Vespasiani, Ann Murray, Elisabete Matos, Ettore Nova, Graham Johnson, João Paulo Santos, Marc Tardue, Muriel Corradini, Laura Sarti, Luciana Serra, Paulo Ferreira, Susan Waters and Tom Krause.
At the age of eight she represented Portugal at 37º Zecchino d’Oro (Italy), going on stage since then always with the same motto of life: “You’re never fully dressed without a smile” (Annie).
