Mehreen Shah has established herself as an accomplished and versatile soprano in opera, oratorio, recital, and musical theatre. She is currently studying with internationally renowned soprano Olivia Whelan. In 2011 Mehreen graduated from Bath Spa University with a BA (Hons) in Music, gaining the highest mark in her year for her final Recital, which included the Poulenc song cycle 'Fiancailles pour rire'. Opera roles include Zerlina (Don Giovanni), Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare), Louisa (A Feast in Time of Plague), Cupid (Orpheus in the Underworld) and Belinda (Dido & Aeneas). She has worked with prestigious conductors including Jason Thornton (Bath Philharmonia), Gavin Carr (Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra/Chorus) and Nicholas Jenkins (Glyndebourne).

Mehreen has performed as a soprano soloist in numerous venues including Windsor Castle, Wells Cathedral, Bath Abbey, Highcliffe Castle and The Turner Sims Concert Hall. In 2016 she performed the lead role of Yum-Yum in The Mikado to great acclaim at The International Gilbert & Sullivan Festival in Harrogate, and at The Lighthouse in Poole. In 2017 she performed the soprano solo in Rossini’s Stabat Mater in Eastbourne, conducted by former Glyndebourne Chorus Master Nicholas Jenkins. In 2018 Mehreen created and performed a series of concerts to celebrate the centenary of Leonard Bernstein, which included a concert at Brighton Fringe Festival.

Recent performances include Sophie de Palma (Master Class) with Questa Teatro, 2nd Lady - cover and Family Matinee (The Magic Flute) with Oxford Opera, and Le Canapé (L’Enfant et les Sortilèges) with VOPERA and the London Philharmonic Orchestra - which won the 2021 South Bank Sky Arts Award for Opera and Musical Theatre, and the RPS Award for Opera at Wigmore Hall.
