Countertenor Meili LI is known for his " hugely attractive voice" (Brian Dickie). He won the Farinelli Prize of London Handel Singing Competition 2016. Li has worked in major houses and festivals including Royal Opera House, Welsh National Opera, Glyndebourne Festival, Hungarian State Opera and Beijing Music Festival. He has performed under the baton of conductors such as Sir John Elliot Gardiner, Maxim Emelyanychev, Christopher Moulds, Andrew Gourlay and Yu Long and has sung in world-renowned venues including Concertgebouw, Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and National Centre for the Performing Arts Beijing.
Li has a strong Chinese media presence, with over 100,000 followers. He is frequently invited to television programmes and is a contributor of music lectures on several Chinese media sites. His first personal album released in 2018 won the ‘Top 10 Annual Hi-Fi CDs Award’ in China. He resides in Hamburg and regularly gives concerts in Germany and China.
