“Li as the Princess was hideously lovely yet hilariously hateable.” Vivian Darkbloom (2018)

“Li’s deadpan delivery made for a perfectly judged comic performance. ” Caroline Potter (2018)

“Meili Li brought a superb countertenor to the role. He showcased an emotional range through his use of clean coloratura runs and his emphasis on the text. ’’ Francisco Salazar, Operawire (2018)

"Anna Harvey and Meili Li (in the joint role of space messenger Astron) rounded out a first-rate cast without any weak links." OPERA NOW, Warwick Thompson, June 2015 (2015)

"The countertenor role of Artemis was sung by Meili Li, who captured the strange beauty of the goddess’s voice." Claire Seymour, Operatoday (2015)

"There are other strands, too…the intervention of Astron (a double role, shared between Anna Harvey and Meili Li), an apparently extraterrestrial messenger who urges the crowd to cherish the Earth." THE GUARDIAN, Andrew Clements, 5th April 2015 (2015)

"Meili Li perfectly captured the inner serenity of the Baptist in both his inscrutable physical stillness and his unwavering, clean countertenor." Opera, August 2014 (2014)

"Meili Li was a charming Marco Fabio, hardly suggesting a venerable patrician, but good to hear. He had the liveliest stage presence, listening, looking, reacting; the others, expressively though they sang, tended to address scores on music-stands rather than their listeners." Andrew Porter, Opera (2013)
