After receiving her BA in music performance at the conservatory of Amsterdam, srilankan born
soprano Meneka Senn decided to specialize in early music with a special passion for (early)
baroque opera. During her musical studies, she participated in several opera productions at the
Dutch National Opera directed by Peter Sellars, Pierre Audi and Willy Decker. 2015-2016 she
was part of the Exzellenz Program Barock Vokal in Mainz, Germany, where she followed lessons
with Andreas Scholl and Claudia Eder.
She already performed with conductors like Philippe Herreweghe, Maris Kupcs , Fabio Bonnizoni
and Raphael Alpermann and made her debut at the Markgräfisches Opernhaus Bayreuth in the roles of La Musica and Euridice (Monteverdi - L'Orfeo) with the DJKT Operahouse Pilzn, Czech Republic of which she is a member of the ensemble.
Meneka also sang opera and cantata projects as a soloist and/or ensemble member with Sigiswald
Kuijken, Peter Philips, and Ton Koopman.
February 2017 she was accepted into the Carnegie Hall young artist program in New York where she worked along the Tallis Scholars.
She is co-founder of the Dutch opera company B.O.O.M! Bold Opera On the Move.
Meneka continues her musical studies with vocal coach Maurits
Apart from singing Meneka teaches music to underpriviledged children in various countries such as Nepal, Mongolia and Kyrgystan.
