Michael Mario Georgiou is a Cypriot Baritone who started his vocal journey at the Athens Conservatoire in 2001. He then continued his studies at the University of North Texas where he was awarded the Moorehead Opera Scholarship and in 2009 he received a BMus in Vocal Performance and Music Theory with Honours. Michael then moved to London to pursue his career and since then he has been given the opportunity to sing across the United Kingdom and internationally. The versatility of his voice has allowed him to perform a wide range of roles from various operas, such as Papageno- The Magic Flute (Athens Conservatoire); Aiolos- L’Egisto (Athens Conservatoire); Frère Laurent- Roméo et Juliette (University Of North Texas); Theseus- A Midsummer’s Night Dream (Murchison Performing Arts Centre); Dr Dulcamara- L'Elisir D'amore (Murchison Performing Arts Centre); Editor Webb- Our Town (Murchison Performing Arts Centre); Jaquino- Fidelio (Gatehouse Theatre); Pimpinone- Pimpinone (Aigina International Festival of Music); Scarpia- Tosca (King’s Head Theatre); Dr Falke- Die Fledermaus (Wilton’s Music Hall); Giorgio Germont- La Traviata (King’s Head Theatre).
