A native of Tokyo, Momoko Kanazawa is a graduate of Kunitachi College of Music (Department
of Music Performance, Voice), and Tokyo Gakugei University Graduate School of Education
(Vocal Music Education).
Momoko moved to Paris in 2010 to attend Le Cycle Concertiste at Conservatoire à
Rayonnement Régional de Paris. She received her Concertiste Diploma with a unanimous “très
bien” from the jury. Momoko Kanazawa’s many accolades include 1st place in 2012 Concours
International Leopold Bellan (Paris), 1st place in 2015 Concours de Concert Vivant (Tokyo),
Prix d'honneur in 2017 Concours UPMCF (Paris) and 2nd place in 2018 Concours Les
Musicales de Centre (Paris).
While in Paris, Momoko appeared in operas produced by the conservatoire, including Cosi fan
tutte as Dorabella and Gianni Schicchi as Zita. She also performed as alto soloist with
orchestras in various concerts, including Berio’s Folk Songs at Théâtre des Abbesses (Paris),
the Opera de Massy production of Magnificat, and the Choeur Interuniversitaire (Paris)
production of Vivaldi’s Gloria.
In 2014, Momoko was highly acclaimed for her role as Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia under
the stage direction of Alan Garichot. At the Festival Internacional de Panticosa, she was
selected to attend Master Classes by Teresa Berganza and earned a diploma. Her performance
in Teresa Berganza Gala Concert was met with rave reviews from the music media in Spain. In
2015, Momoko performed the title role in L'Enfant et les Sortilègess at the Seiji Ozawa
Matsumoto Festival. She also participated in the Young Professionals Program Eurovox 2015
as a representative of France. In 2016, Momoko appeared in Seiji Ozawa Music Academy’s
Opera for Children Die Fledermaus as Prince Orlofsky and she was again invited to perform
the title role in L'Enfant et les Sortilèges at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival 2016 and
2017. She made her debut in Tokyo Nikikai Opera Production Die Rosenkavalier as Die drei
Weisen in 2017. In 2018, She participated in Tokyo Nikikai Opera Production Lohengrin as
Ortrud cover, and portrayed the role of La Ciesca in Gianni Schicchi in Seiji Ozawa Music
Academy's Opera for Children and also at the Seiji Ozawa Matsumoto Festival.
She has also been heard on many occations as alto soloist. In 2016, she sung Beethoven’s
Symphony No.9 with New Philharmonic Orchestra Chiba, and Mozart's Requiem in Unaduki
Mozart Music Festival in 2017. She made her debut in Malaysia at the prestigious Penang Club
in her recital organized by IWA in 2016, and she was again invited to sing for two recitals in

government's Agency for Cultural Affairs.
Momoko has studied under Masaharu Oishi, Shizue Makiyama, Hiroshi Kuroda, Naoyoshi
Kamata, Fusako Kondo, Bernadette Mercier, Peggy Bouveret, Anne Constantin, and Teresa
Momoko Kanazawa is a member of TOKYO NIKIKAI. She is fluent in French, English, Italian, and Japanese.
