Welsh mezzo-soprano Morgana Warren-Jones graduated from the University of Leeds with a first-class music degree (2017). She spent an Erasmus year studying voice with Marie Kobayashi at the Académie Supérieure de Musique de Strasbourg. Morgana is currently preparing for further studies with her vocal tutor Sandra Dugdale whilst working as a freelance singer, tutor and animateur.

Morgana made her opera debut in 2011 as Mrs Jaffett in Britten’s Noye’s Fludde at the Llangollen International Eisteddfod and has since performed as Venus in Venus & Adonis – Blow, Philidel/Cupid in King Arthur – Purcell (Leeds Baroque), Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Geraldine in A Hand of Bridge – Barber (Leeds University Opera Society), the title role in Cendrillon – Viardot (Northern Opera Group), and 1st Owl in the upcoming opera film Hedd Wyn by Stephen McNeff (Welsh National Opera).

A keen recitalist, Morgana was invited to perform recitals as part of University of Leeds International Concert Series (2017) and at Powis Hall, Bangor University as an alumna of the William Mathias Music Centre (2018).

An experienced ensemble singer, Morgana is an alumna of the National Youth Choirs of both Wales and Great Britain. She is a founder member of Chamber Choir Wales and Kana Chamber Choir, most recently performing Rachmaninoff’s Vespers in Snowdonia cycle tunnels.

Morgana has participated in masterclasses with renowned artists including Dame Ann Murray, Fiona Kimm, and Jennifer Johnston. In 2017 Morgana won 3rd prize in the Mezzo-Soprano Solo 19-25 competition at the National Eisteddfod and was presented with the John Thorpe Special award in 2014 and 2015, given to promising young musicians from the Friends of Gwynedd Youth Music.
