Born in Bogotá, the Colombian soprano studied Musicology at Universidad de los Andes, in her home country, and graduated with Honours from her Master’s Degree in Musicology at Université Paris-Sorbonne in June 2016. In 2017, she began her studies with her current voice teacher, Malin Hartelius, and in June 2020, she was successfully awarded her Master’s in Performance from Bern University of Arts (HKB).

Passionate about Early Music, she participated in masterclasses with La Petite Bande Summer Academy (Sigiswald and Marie Kuijken) and Rencontres Baroques de Montfrin (Gabriel Garrido). She also attended masterclasses with Hedwig Fassbender, Sibylla Rubens, Regina Werner Dietrich, Silvana Bazzoni-Bartoli and Rosa Domínguez.

From September 2020, Natalia Pastrana has been member of the Swiss Opera Studio (Bern University of the Arts) and will complete her internship with Theater Orchester Biel Solothurn performing the role of Amour in J.P. Rameau's "Zaïs" and Female Voice/Mountain Spirit in the world Premiere of Fabien Müller's "Eiger". In summer 2021, she made her role debut as Carolina in the production of Cimarosa's " Il matrimonio segreto" with WorkshOpera Bern.
