OLIVE MURRAY read history at Cambridge University, England. After leaving university she went on to become classically trained as an opera singer and has gone on to sing a variety of operatic roles including singing the role of 'Prayer Singer' in the production of Porgy & Bess. Her operatic roles include First Lady and Queen of the Night (Magic Flute); Constanza (Il Seraglio); Frasquita and Micaela (Carmen); Female Chorus (Rape of Lucretia); Anna (Nabucco); Zerlina and Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni); Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos); Margarita (Faust); Belinda (Dido); Fire, Princess & Nightingale (L’Enfant et les Sortileges); Adele (Die Fledermaus); Angelina (Trial by Jury); Violetta (La Traviata). Giorgetta (Il Tabarro).
She has gained considerable experience as a recital and oratorio soloist in Britain singing in prestigious venues such as the Queen Elizabeth Hall, Barbican Hall and the Purcell Room, St.Martins-in-the-Fields and Fairfields Hall. Abroad her singing has taken her to Berlin and Milan singing with many choral societies and in Montreal, Canada. Her oratorio and concert performances include 'C' Minor Mass, Coronation Mass and Requiem (Mozart); Nelson Mass (Haydn); Jubilee Cantata (Weber); Messiah, Dixit Dominus, Judas Maccabeaeus (Handel); Solemn Vespers (Mozart); Paukenmesse, Nelson Mass, Marie Teresa Mass and St.Nicholas Mass, Creation (Haydn); Elijah, Lauda Sion, Hymn of Praise (Mendelssohn), Ein Deutsches Requiem (Brahms) Come ye Sons of Art, Ode to St.Celia (Purcell) and Gloria (Vivaldi).
She offers a wide repertoire of music that covers many events for corporate, weddings, funerals, memorials, thanksgiving etc.
