Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize Finalist (2015)
Mezzo Soprano Phoebe Suzanne Eley, is currently studying under Nuccia Focile for her Masters in Opera and Vocal studies at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Phoebe studied for her undergraduate degree at Birmingham Conservatoire on a scholarship under Christine Cairns.
Phoebe has been involved in a variety of different productions and played the roles of Hermia, from Britten’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’, alongside the premiere role of Olive in Michael Wolter’s contemporary opera; ‘Ava’s Wedding’, and Florence Pike from Britten’s ‘Albert Herring’. Phoebe has sung many recitals around the UK and has taken part in numerous masterclasses with distinguished professors such as, Richard Stokes, Christopher Purves and Kathryn Harries. Phoebe was a finalist for the Cecil Drew Oratorio Prize and also for the Major Van Someren-Godfrey English Song Prize at the RAM.
