Rebecca Leggett is a 2020 masters graduate of the Royal College of Music where she was an Ian Evans Lombe Scholar. Prior to this, Rebecca completed her undergraduate degree at Trinity Laban Conservatoire in 2018 graduating with First Class Honours, the TCM Trust Silver Medal for Voice and the Alan J Kirby Conducting Prize.

Rebecca is currently in the 11th edition of Le Jardin des Voix 2023/24, the young artist programme of Les Arts Florissants, touring Purcell’s 'The Fairy Queen’ internationally with William Christie and Paul Agnew; venues include Teatro alla Scala and the Lincoln Center NYC. Other stage highlights include playing the role of Cupid in John Blow’s ‘Venus and Adonis’ for Blackheath Halls Opera and a UK tour, to venues such as Sadlers Wells, with contemporary ballet company Rambert, performing Monteverdi’s ‘Lamento della Ninfa’, with guitarist George Robinson.

Rebecca is a keen early music soloist and recently became one of the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment's ‘Rising Stars’ for 2023/25. Her concert highlights in 2022 were singing Bach's St. John Passion with the OAE lead by Mark Padmore at Het Concertgebouw, Amsterdam, making her Wigmore Hall concert debut with Arcangelo conducted by Jonathan Cohen and Handel’s Messiah with Edward Higginbottom and the Instruments of Time and Truth. Other concert highlights include Haydn's 'Nelson Mass' with The Sixteen at Cadogan Hall, Copland’s 'In the Beginning' at St. Martin-in-the-Fields and Handel's 'Israel in Egypt' at St. Johns Smith Square.

Rebecca was a finalist at the Kathleen Ferrier Award 2023 with pianist George Ireland at the Wigmore Hall. A recipient of the Coro Nuovo Young Musician of the Year 2018, Rebecca was made an ambassador of the competition in 2022 which seeks to support young musicians from Sussex. At the RCM she won the 2020 Brooks-van der Pump English Song Competition and received the Audience Prize for the 2019 Maureen Lehane Vocal Awards. Whilst at Trinity Laban she was awarded the Wilfred Greenhouse Allt Prize for Oratorio & Cantata and first prize in the Elisabeth Schumann Lieder Competition.

Rebecca, alongside pianist George Ireland, received first place at the 2022 London Song Festival's British Art-Song Competition, selected by Sir Thomas Allen. Song is high on the agenda for Rebecca and in recent years she has given recitals for both the Lewes Song Festival and London Song Festival. Last autumn, Rebecca and pianist Dylan Bewley-Perez performed in an Emerging Artist slot for the Oxford Lieder Festival. She also gave joint recitals for the Thames Concert Series with countertenor Hugh Cutting and for the Ludlow English Song Festival with Brindley Sherratt.

Rebecca also works regularly as an ensemble singer, singing regularly with The Sixteen and the OAE plus other groups such as Le Concert d'Astree, Arcangelo, La Nuova Musica, The Marian Consort, The Carice Singers, ORA and Ensemble Pro Victoria. Rebeca is also the alto for 'Seraphim' (www.seraphimconsort.com) a London based consort group directed by Robert Mingay-Smith.
