"Soprano Rebecca Milford has a beautiful voice, and looks perfect as the somewhat bossy little girl... Together the siblings lark around and squabble convincingly. Martin-Brandis directs them with great imagination. What could be twee or repetitive is here vividly playful. Beneath the superficial tensions between them, the children are instinctively protective of one another when the dangers of the outside world threaten them. Particularly moving is their duet, Evening Prayer." Review by Jane Darcy for The Reviews Hub.com (2024)
'The brother and sister of the title are played by Rebecca Milford as Gretel and Wiktoria Wizner as Hansel. They are both terrific. I was startled at first by the sheer power of Rebecca’s vocal force, she hits you like a hurricane. She’s a pocket battleship that’s for sure. Powerful, clear and direct her singing is tremendously engaging.'. Review by John O'Brien for LondonTheatre1.com (2024)
