Lyric soprano Rebecca Peterson is a frequent concert and theater performer, most recently seen in The Student Prince (Princess Margaret/Kathie cover) with Icicle Center for the Arts; Die Zauberflöte (Erste Dame) with the German Vocal Arts Institute; Norma (Clotilde, Norma cover) with Skagit Opera and Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira) with Toronto Summer Opera Workshop.
She has also performed in concert excerpts as Countess Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro, Seattle Opera Guild previews) and the title role of Anna Bolena (Puget Sound Concert Opera previews).
Peterson’s favorite musical theater credits include How to Succeed in Business... (Smitty), Guys and Dolls (Sarah Brown), and a US national tour of Missoula Children’s Theatre’s, The Princess and the Pea (Chief & Tour Actor/Director).
A huge fan of presenting opera to new audiences, Peterson frequently performs cabaret with Seattle drag and burlesque favorites Apollo Vidra, Sparkle Leigh, and Butch Alice, among others.
Recently, she was honored to perform in concert masterclass for soprano Deborah Voigt, presented by Brava! Opera Theater in Ashland, Oregon.
Peterson is a recipient of the Helen Jensen Memorial Award in Voice, a semi-finalist in The American Prize Competition,and an alumna of the of OperaWorks Advanced Artist Program. Also a classically trained bassist, Peterson earned her BA in Music and Jazz Studies minor from Washington State University.
