Soprano, Sacha Smith has performed at a range of venues from Carnegie Hall, to Kodak Hall, and Toronto’s MacMillan theatre. At fifteen years old, Sacha made her debut in Soho Storeys in the Pleasance Grand at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. A dedicated musician and performer, Sacha Smith’s ability to sing in a variety of genres has enabled her to share her love of story-telling through song to a wide range of audiences both in North America and the UK.
Always ready for a new phase of artistic independence, Sacha’s ideas and passion remained un-restricted by COVID 19, as she seeks to define new parameters of spectatorship, location, and technology in contemporary operatic and art song performance. Sacha is invested in cultivating and performing in a creative space that unites disparate art forms.
Sacha was named an alternate finalist in the Lotte Lenya Competition – The Kurt Weill Foundation. Other roles include: la Contessa in le nozze di Figaro and as Aunt Norris in the Canadian premiere of Mansfield Park by Jonathan Dove. Marcellina (le nozze di Figaro), Shirley Kaplan (Street Scene)
A keen recitalist, Sacha has also performed solo recitals at the Arts and Letters club, Toronto, and in Walter Hall at the University of Toronto.
