Sarah gained a first class honours degree in Music and Italian from the University of Bristol, also spending a year at the University of Bologna in Italy, and she subsequently went on to gain a Masters with Distinction from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. She sings with Sir John Eliot Gardiner’s Monteverdi Choir, as well as other leading UK ensembles, and she enjoys a freelance career of opera, oratorio, recital and consort singing.
Sarah will be performing in the Chorus at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden in 2015 in a production of Gluck’s Orphée et Euridice, and she is a freelance chorus member for both Opera North and Scottish Opera. She has performed many diverse opera roles from Monteverdi through to premieres by contemporary composers.
On the concert platform, she has been a soloist at prestigious concert venues such as the Cadogan Hall, the Wigmore Hall and Kings Place, and she is s very experienced oratorio soloist. Oratorio engagements have included Handel's Messiah, Bach's St.John Passion, various Bach Cantatas, Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, Gounod's St.Cecilia Mass, Haydn's Nelson Mass, Haydn's St.Nicolas Mass, Haydn's St. Teresa Mass, Mozart's Requiem, Mozart's Mass in C Minor, Mozart's Coronation Mass, Rachmaninov's Vespers, Rutter's Feel the Spirit and Vivaldi's Gloria. Forthcoming engagements include Mendelssohn's Elijah, Bach's St.John Passion and Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle.
