SVITLANA MELNYK
Svitlana Melnyk is a mezzo-soprano opera singer.
Born on the fifth of October in 1984 in Lisichansk (Ukraine).
In 2010 graduated at Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts majoring in academic singing.
In opera studio of university have taken part in performances such as: “La Traviata” by G. Verdi, “The magic flute” by W. Mozart, “The Merry Wives of Windsor” by O. Nicolai.
During the years of studying has become the laureate of international competitions:
- IV B. Gmiry Ukrainian Vocal festival (Dnipro, Ukraine, 2009 )
¬¬ - The International competition “21st Century Art” ( Kiev, Ukraine, 2012);
- X International festival of arts (Yalta, 2011);
- Took part in International competition of chamber music “Voix et piano” ( Lion, France, 2013).
In 2013 graduated postgraduate internship course and since 2013 started to work in Kharkiv I. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts as solo (opera) singer in piano accompaniment department.
Since 2021 - starts to study on PhD in university. Research in the field of baroque music and production of Handel's opera “Julius Caesar”.
Since 2021 have been working as a teacher of singing on Solo Singing Department.
Now – teach and intership in Instituto Superiore di studi Musicali «Achille Peri – Claudio Merulo» Reggio – Emilia, Italy.Class prof. di Sonia Ganassi.
Regularly takes part in concerts dedicated to French and Polish and Ukraine culture. Performs music of contemporary composers and rarely performed music.
Presented solo concert programs of music of the Baroque era; music by Gershwin and Bernstein.
Repeatedly participated in one of the largest and oldest events in Ukraine International Music Festival «Kharkiv assemblies» XIX, XXII, (2012,2015, 2017)
Soloist of the folk ensemble of violinists «Inspiration» (2012-2017, Kharkiv, Ukraine).
Took part in such projects as:
«Territory of creativity» - series of concerts for children (2019-2020, Kharkiv, Ukraine).
«Piano 119» popularizing the performance of rarely performed music of the 20th century (2019-2021, Kharkiv, Ukraine).
In Italy - took part in support concert in the Saint Agostino church in Reggio Emilia (15.04.2022).
And took part in Easter Messa in Santa Teresa Cathedral Reggio Emilia (17.04.2022).
