Thea Grace Callaghan is a 21-year-old Classical Soprano from the Island. Currently studying under Joan Rogers C.B.E. and
coached by Helen Yorke and Rob Bottriell at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London. During her time here she has represented the institution at the prestigious Kathleen Ferrier Junior Bursary Awards competition. Previously Thea attended Wells Cathedral School where she was awarded a place as a Specialist Musician under the Government Music & Dance Scheme and was appointed as the first Vocal Captain. Whilst there Thea was a lead member of the school's girls high voice choir, Choralia and took part in the finals of Choir of the Year, sang live on BBC Radio 3 and won the international singing competition Musica Eterna Roma in Italy. Upon leaving Wells, Thea was awarded with the Vocal Cup and the Singing Prize.
Thea won her first festival class aged 6 with numerous cups and awards adding to this over the last 15 years across the UK. She is also a member of the British Youth Opera and has worked alongside the Welsh National Opera and attended a short course at the National Opera Studio. Outside of her classical career, Thea is well known as being a founding member of the 1940s styled harmony trio ‘Company B-UK’, with whom she has performed with at major music festivals in the UK, Monaco Yacht Show, and the BBC. She has also performed alongside Danna, Russell Watson, Tenors Unlimited and FatBoy Slim, as well as being a member of the international winning Glee group ‘Resonate’.
