Born in Poole, Dorset in 1991, Tim Bagley is a second year postgraduate bass-baritone at the RNCM (supported by the Hargreaves and Ball Trust), where he also completed his undergraduate course, and is currently studying with Quentin Hayes. Whilst at the RNCM, Tim has portrayed the roles of Peter Quince in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Carl Olsen in Street Scene, Urbain in La Vie Parisienne, and Le Roi in Cendrillon. He has appeared in the choruses of Der Fliegende Holländer, La Traviata, Fidelio, Aida, L’Elisir D’amore, Un Ballo in Maschera, Macbeth, and Eugene Onegin for Dorset Opera. As a bass soloist he has performed Mozart’s Requiem and Solemn Vespers, Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle, and Haydn’s Creation with various choral societies. His masterclass highlights include John Tomlinson, Roderick Williams, Christopher Purves, and David Owen Norris. Most recently he has appeared in the chorus of Peter Grimes in Norway (Bergen National Opera), as 2nd Priest and 2nd Armed Man in Die Zauberflöte (Heritage Opera), as 2nd prisoner in Fidelio (BBC Proms), as Zuniga in Carmen (Opera on Location), as Oroveso in Norma (Midland Opera), and as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera on Location).
