The Berlin-born and Cologne-based Mezzosoprano Ulrike Bauer has a background as a musical allrounder. She first learned to play the accordion, adding the trumpet and the piano later on. She eventually trained as a vocalist at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln in the class of Ingeborg Greiner and attended master classes with, among others, Prof. Klesie Kelly, Prof. Mechthild Georg, and Judd Perry.
As an ensemble member she has worked with conductors such as Marcus Creed, Peter Dijkstra and Florian Helgath. She comfortably performs complex works from contemporary composers.
As a soloist she boasts a great stylistic diversity, transitioning effortlessly from the standard classical repertoire to burlesque-style performances in pubs and bars.
