Miriam Sharrad made her debut with the Australian Opera Studio where she performed, among other roles, Dinah (Trouble in Tahiti), Dulcinée (Don Quichotte), and Niklausse/Muse (Les Contes d’Hoffmann).
Since settling in the United Kingdom, Miriam has worked with a number of companies including, The English Touring Opera, Grange Park Opera, Grange Festival Opera, Opera South East, New Sussex Opera and The Wagner Society
In concert, she has sung a number of Wagner roles, notably, Waltraute (Götterdämmerung), conducted by David Syrus, and Schwertleite (Die Walküre) for BBC Broadcast, conducted by Sir Andrew Davis. She has presented recitals in New Zealand, Australia, Cyprus and at the Edinburgh Festival and performed Meg Page (Falstaff) with the International Foundation for Arts and Culture in Japan.
Miriam was recently soloist in Rossini’s, Petite Messe Solennelle with the English Arts Chorale and reprised the role of Madame Popova in Walton’s The Bear for the Grimeborn Festival, to great acclaim.
2023 sees her covering Governess (Pique Dame), Spirit and Sorceress (Dido and Aeneas) for Grange Festival Opera, and Mama Lucia (Cavalleria Rusticana) for West Green Opera.
