Scottish Baritone Jonathan Forbes Kennedy graduated with an MMus (performance) degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2017. During his time at the Conservatoire, he won the Jean Highgate Scholarship for Singing and was Highly Commended in the Governor's Recital Prize for Singing.
Jonathan has been privileged to take part in Masterclasses/Coachings with Marybeth Dayme Bunch, Lisa Milne, John Treleaven, Malcolm Martineau and Roderick Williams.
Operatic roles include: Eugene Onegin (Fife Opera) Escamillo in Carmen (Edinburgh Studio Opera), Count Almaviva in Le Nozze di Figaro (Opera Dei Lumi), The Host of the Garter Inn in Sir John in Love (RCS) and Antonio in Le Nozze di Figaro (RCS). He recently finished a tour of the UK and Italy in Rossini’s L’occasione fa il Ladro with Raucous Rossini. Jonathan created the role of Harry in world premiere of Louis Mander’s The Fallen Soldier with Belsize Opera, and the role of Reverend Tregold in the world premiere of Louis Mander’s The Life to come, set to a Libretto by Stephen Fry, with Surrey Opera,
On the concert platform he has sung as a soloist for the Mozart and Fauré Requiems, Handel's Israel in Egypt, Beethoven's Missa Solemnis, J S Bach's St Matthew and St John Passions, Vaughan Williams' Serenade to music and 5 Mystical songs, Finzi’s In terra pax and Saint Saens’ Oratorio de Noel. He has also performed Schubert's Winterreise with Pianist Jacco Lamfers and Copland’s Old American Songs with the City of Carlisle Orchestra.
